‘There have been many imitators since 1984 but we are the original’ Seosaimhín Ní Bheaglaoich.

The First All-Female Big-Band of traditional music are celebrating 30 years. They got together on International Women’s day 1984 to celebrate women’s creativity. Over twenty women musicians and singers from all parts of Ireland, north and south ,but based in Dublin, got together for the occasion. They came from Donegal ,Clare, Kerry, Galway, Dublin and Westmeath. Máiread Ní Mhaonaigh, Mary Macnamara, Maureen Fahy, Patsy Broderick, Seosaimhín Ní Bheaglaoich to name just a few. It was fantastic fun, as well as being musically explosive!! They are scattered to the four corners of Ireland now, many having made traditional music their professional career, but they are getting together for this one Fantastic Concert to again celebrate women’s music, energy, and creativity.

Line up on the night will include Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Seosaimhín Ní Bheaglaoich, Mary McNamara, Maureen Fahy and Catherine McEvoy.
