I feel very privileged once again to be patron of the Temple Bar TradFest. Since its inception, Temple Bar TradFest has been an ambitious and broad-ranging national event, firming up Temple Bars reputation as Dublin’s Cultural Quarter and providing a focus for traditional music nationally and internationally. In the middle of one of the worst recessions in the history of the state, the festival continues to expand providing an even wider range of entertainment for all. I am very happy that some of my greatest friends and some of the most talented musicians in Ireland will be playing at this year’s festival and have no doubt that in these difficult economic times TradFest will lift spirits for the year ahead with a wonderful five days of inspiring song and a lasting engagement with the treasure that is Irish Culture.
