We launched the 2012 Temple Bar TradFest yesterday in Dublin City Hall, it was a spectacular event with performances from the Mexican Mariachi San Patricio band, The Celtic Irish Dance Festival, singer Noel O’Grady, accordion player Tommy Doran and a very special guest performance by The Dubliners. We were also very privileged to have the Mexican Ambassador Carlos Garcia De Alba Dublin City Manager John Tierney, our festival partners Diageo, Failte Ireland, Tourism Ireland and Rte join us in launching the festival. We also want to say a huge thanks to the Scurlogstown Olympiad who popped along with their High Nellie and barrels of hay to entice us all into the Traditional Irish Trim Haymaking festival and to the Arlington Hotel for the fantastic food after all the singing and dancing we’d built up quite an appetite! Temple Bar Tradfest is now only 2 weeks away and we can’t wait for it to begin. to Temple Bar for TradFest 2012.

Meath Beo is dedicated to reliving and reviving the country life, farming practices, rural pastimes. On Saturday the 28th and Sunday 29th January the grounds of Christ Church Cathedral will be transformed into a rural village with real thatched cottages where you will be able to find an array of different craft workshops from learning how to make brown bread and churning butter to building a cock of hay and making sugan ropes. The village will include Dan O’Hara’s animal farm; where there will be sheep shearing, horse shoeing, milking cows and a petting farm.  There will also be musical performances and street performers over the weekend of the festival.
